Are YOU an Alliance Certified Ally™?

It is crucial to recognize the importance of LGBTQ+ real estate practitioners, mainly because federal Fair Housing Laws do not currently safeguard sexual orientation or gender identity, allowing discrimination in 27 states. This discrimination adds barriers to homeownership, loan acquisition, and rental opportunities, resulting in a significant homeownership rate disparity of 49% for LGBTQ+ individuals compared to the general population’s rate of 64%. Additionally, 46% of renters express concerns about discrimination during home-buying.

By addressing these barriers and promoting fair housing, we can create inclusive communities that embody the principles of justice and equality for all.

This allows legal discrimination in 27 states which can cause barriers to homeownership, obtaining a loan, renting, and more.*

The LGBTQ homeownership rate is 49%, far below the homeownership rate of 64% for the general population. Fear of any type of discrimination in the future home buying process is a concern for 46% renters.*
